Dragon's Dogma 2 has an expansive world with plenty for players to explore. Due to the huge map of the action role-playing game, players have been looking for how they can fast-travel in Dragon's Dogma 2. While there are methods to fast-travel in Dragon's Dogma 2, the feature is highly limited, causing much frustration among players.

Hideaki Itsuno, the director of Dragon's Dogma 2, argued that an extensive fast-travel feature was not required in the game. He believed that making the travel interesting would be enough incentive enough for players to walk to various players.

He claimed that if game developers make travel fun, there would be no necessity for fast travel.

This has annoyed players quite a bit as fast-travel is highly limited and players are forced to travel manually to most places in the game.

3 Methods to Fast-Travel in Dragon's Dogma 2

The game does provide you with three methods that allow you to automatically traverse across the huge map. Namely, these are ropeways, oxcarts, and portcrystals.

Portcrystals

Portcrystals are Dragon's Dogma 2's "fast-travel points." In certain locations, you will see structures with a light purple glow. After interacting with them, these locations will be saved to your map. You can then fast-travel to these points later on. There are also temporary portcrystals in the game that you can earn as rewards. These allow you to create a fast-travel point wherever you wish.

You can place them wherever you want on the map and fast-travel to them later. They can also be picked up after being planted in a location and placed somewhere else. However, using Portcrystals costs Ferrystones. These are highly rare items. Thus, fast travel in Dragon's Dogma 2 must be done with restraint. Alternatively, you can use a few other modes of transportation.

Oxcarts

During your journey in Dragon's Dogma 2, you will often see massive carts being pulled by Oxes. Not only do these add to the game's aura and make the world seem more vibrant, but they are also a method of transportation in the game. However, these are not practical methods of fast travel in Dragon's Dogma 2. These Oxcarts are very slow. They also have fixed routes across certain towns and may rarely go where you wish to travel.

The only reason these are considered fast-travel in Dragon's Dogma 2 is because you can nap throughout the journey to pass the time. Each journey also costs 100-200 gold. However, sometimes, your journey may be interrupted by bandits and monster attacks. You will have to step out of the cart, take the enemies out and then continue on your path.

Ropeways

Ropeways are a fast method to traverse the map. However, this method of fast travel in Dragon's Dogma 2 is limited to the Battahl region and Bakbattahl City.

After reaching a ropeway, you can select the place where you wish to go buy turning a lever. Further, you can now hop on to the ropeway and be on your way.

Similar to the Oxcarts, keep your eyes peeled while travelling as your journey an gets interrupted mid-way. You may have to fend off flying creatures such as Harpies while on a ropeway.
