New Update

Epic Games allows you to link your console account (Xbox, Nintendo, or PlayStation Network) to their service. Connecting your console account to your Epic Games account offers you several benefits. Your profile data, game progression, purchases and game content of video games by Epic Games (like Fortnite)  will be permanently linked to your Epic Games account.

This allows you to transfer your data over consoles. For example, even if you switch from an Xbox to a PlayStation, you will still be able to use the same Fortnite account with the same items and account progression.

  • Head over to the Epic Games website
  • Sign in with your Epic Games account.
  • Hover your profile name to display a drop-down list.
  • Click on the fifth option, "Account."
  • There is a menu on the left side of your account settings. Click on "Apps and Accounts", the fourth option from the bottom.
  • Select Xbox, PlayStation Network, or Nintendo account, depending on your console. Press the "connect" button underneath the respective console.
  • You will receive a pop-up confirming which Epic Games account you are currently signed into. Press the blue button labelled "Link Account."
  • This will redirect you to the Microsoft, PlayStation, or Nintendo website, depending on which console you selected.
  • Log in using the credentials associated with your PSN/Xbox/Nintendo account.

This will connect your console account to your Epic Games account. As a confirmation, you can visit the "Apps and Accounts" settings once again. Your console username will be displayed under the respective console's logo. The "connect" button will also be replaced with "remove."

Epic Games has made the process easier for players, as you can do a part of this process using your console too. Upon launching Fortnite for the first time on a console, the game will prompt you to link your account. If you do not skip this portion, the game will display a unique 8-digit code.

You can enter this 8-digit code by visiting the URL displayed on your console screen and then entering the credentials of your console account. Note that once you link a console account to your Epic Games account, you will not be able to link a different account of the same console to it. Therefore, be careful when linking your connections, and ensure that you are signed into the right console and Epic Games account before doing so.
