How to get Brightcore in LEGO Fortnite?

Head into the heated desert biomes for Brightcore in LEGO Fortnite. Not only do these allow you to create the Metal Smelter, but also cool lighting fixtures like night lights.

Epic Games recently added a new item, Brightcore in LEGO Fortnite. It is an essential crafting item for you to get once you reach the midgame stages in your world. While its main use is to craft several lighting fixtures and elements, such as night lights and lamps, it is also used to create the essential Metal Smelter.

The Metal Smelter is a key utility item in the game used to process copper ore. The Smelter will turn your raw copper ore into copper bars. Further, you can use the copper bars to create better tools and gear.

The recent v28.10 update introduced Brightcore in LEGO Fortnite. Being a relatively newer item, even players who have played the game for longer are having trouble finding this resource. By following the simple steps listed below, you can easily find Brightcore in LEGO Fortnite.

Find Brightcore in LEGO Fortnite to build a metal smelter and lighting fixtures

Brightcore in LEGO Fortnite can only be found in Dry Valley caves. These caves are also the home of other useful items like obsidian, blast cores and copper. To locate such a cave, you will first have to find a desert biome, the only place where such caves spawn. However, you must first prepare yourself before you set out in the wild looking for these caves.

Firstly, brightcore can only be mined using a pickaxe of "rare" rarity or higher. If you do not carry such a pickaxe, your trip will go to waste even if you can locate Brightcore in LEGO Fortnite. Also, try to bring items like strawberry milkshakes or snow cones with you. You will need these items to fight the high temperatures and heat of the desert biome and the dry valley caves.

After preparing yourself for the journey, head out of your base and locate a desert biome. Locating Dry Valley caves should not take more than a few minutes of roaming around the biome. Upon entering such a cave, you will be notified with a pop-up that says, "You are hot." Make your way through these caves carefully, as they are often lava hotspots.

Brightcore in LEGO Fortnite is much easier to find in these caves compared to obsidian. You will notice huge patches of glowing rocks in the cave's walls. They generally glow bright orange, similar to the colour of lava. After noticing these patches, simply head up to them and mine them using your rare pickaxe. Make sure to grab a bunch of these to avoid repeated trips to the desert. You can simply pick them up after mining and use them for your crafting recipes.
