GTA 6 trailer on a record-breaking streak following official release
Following extreme hype and anticipation, Rockstar Games finally released the first official trailer of the upcoming GTA iteration, Grand Theft Auto VI. After the release, the GTA 6 trailer is going on a record-breaking streak, amassing millions of views, likes, and reactions on social channels like YouTube and X (formerly Twitter). So, let's quickly dive into the world internet and take a look at how the GTA 6 trailer is breaking all the online records.
Rockstar Games recently dropped the first official trailer of GTA 6 on its YouTube channel. Although the company wanted to release the trailer at 9 AM ET, a leak of it on X forced Rockstar to drop the trailer earlier than the scheduled time.

However, that did not limit the GTA 6 trailer's capability to garner views and likes on YouTube. The trailer is on its way to breaking YouTube's 24-hour view-count record that was earlier set by the music video for Dynamite by the uber-popular, K-pop band BTS. The record-breaking video, in question, garnered a mind-boggling 101 million views within the first 24 hours of its release. It currently stands at 1.7 billion views on YouTube.
GTA 6 trailer is on its way to breaking BTS' YouTube record
Coming back to the GTA 6 trailer, it has already accumulated over 58 million views, and that too, within the first 12 hours of its release. So, as you can imagine, the trailer is already past the halfway mark in terms of view counts, compared to the BTS video's record of 101 million views. Moreover, it still has 12 hours left to gather more views. Hence, fans can expect the GTA 6 trailer to get past the 101-million views mark by the time 24 hours is completed.
The super popular YouTuber, Mr. Beast, has been the king of content creation on the video platform, breaking the record for the most views within the first 24 hours for a non-music video multiple times. Earlier this year, the creator set the record for the most-viewed, non-music video in 24 hours with his "Extreme Olympics" video. It accumulated 59.4 million views within the first 24 hours of its release.
However, the GTA 6 trailer has now dethroned Mr. Beast and is on its way to set a new YouTube record for the most-viewed, non-music video in 24 hours. It has only been 13 hours since the GTA 6 trailer was released and it has already garnered over 61.1 million views on YouTube, officially breaking Mr. Beast's record for the most-viewed non-music video within 24 hours.
GTA 6 trailer tweet has broken X's records for the most-liked tweet
Breaking online records is not a new thing for GTA 6! Earlier this week, when Rockstar Games dropped an announcement post, confirming the trailer launch of its much-hyped GTA 6 title with a post (tweet), on X, it completely shook the platform, garnering over 184+ million views (as of writing this article). However, that was not the exciting part!
The GTA 6 trailer launch post on X broke the record for the most-liked gaming-related tweet of all time in X's history. The post or tweet currently stands with over 2 million likes and 499 million reposts. This is for a game that has not even been released yet. So, you can understand the level of hype surrounding the next Grand Theft Auto title.
