The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 ships with up to a 2.6GHz CPU prime core clock speed for fast app loading and task switching. According to Qualcomm, it offers over 50% faster graphics rendering compared to its predecessor.

Christopher Patrick, SVP and GM for mobile handsets at Qualcomm stated, “By working closely with our OEM partners, we’re able to help make the next generation of in-demand features, such as enhanced AI and extraordinary camera capabilities, more widely accessible to consumers.”

The chip is based on a 4nm manufacturing process which allows it to deliver the boost in performance while still being power efficient. Qualcomm claims it has 20% lower power consumption rate compared to the previous 7-series chip.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 brings a host of AI-focused upgrades especially for the camera. It can support imaging sensors with up to 200MP resolution. This allows phone makers to add high-resolution primary cameras.

The Spectra image signal processor on the chip features Qualcomm's AI Engine which enables AI-based noise reduction and image enhancements. Even in low light scenes, it can sharpen details and correct discolored portions in photos through machine learning algorithms.

The integrated Snapdragon X62 5G modem allows the chip to deliver peak 5G download speeds up to 5Gbps. With support for both sub-6GHz and mmWave bands, users will get reliable 5G connectivity.

The chip also comes with Qualcomm FastConnect 6700 for Wi-Fi 6E and 6GHz support. It improves wireless throughput and reduces latency.

For charging, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 5 technology. As per Qualcomm, this can charge a phone from 0 to 50% battery in under 5 minutes.

More Affordable AI-Powered Devices

With its investments in AI acceleration and 5G, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 brings premium features down to the mid-range smartphone category. The chipset enables enhanced photography, videography, gaming, connectivity and charging capabilities typically limited to more expensive flagship phones. By powering advanced AI features while remaining power efficient, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 allows manufacturers to equip their affordable smartphones with the latest technology and innovations previously not seen in this price segment. This gives more consumers access to an exceptional experience.
